At Gushcloud Indonesia, we work with marvellous employees. Marcello Kusuma is a Senior Account Executive and has been part of the team for more than a year. His critical thinking in solving problems has helped him boost his career into the senior position within a year of working.
What do you do at Gushcloud Indonesia?
I am responsible for negotiating and closing deals with existing and new clients, retaining existing clients, building opportunity pipeline, planning strategic proposals for clients, curating influencers for social media campaigns, executing approved marketing strategies, and campaign reporting.
What was your first impression of the company?
I found Gushcloud edgy. I knew that this place would have a fun and friendly working environment.
How has Gushcloud helped you in career development?
For me, Gushcloud has a clear path that I can follow. I was clueless about the digital industry before I work here. As time goes by, I realize I have been improving and growing not only in technical matters but also in shaping my character. I have learned the art of account management. Also, I’m now knowledgeable of the digital industry.
What do you find the most challenging at Gushcloud?
The most challenging yet exciting work for me is to keep improving on my creative thinking and problem-solving skills in every project. Each campaign has different goals and level of difficulties so I have to always sharpen my creativity in tackling any kind of issue.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Well, I always start my day with prayers. In the office, the team usually has a quick breakfast together before we start to work. Afterwards, I go back to my station and start to write down my to-do list and arrange my priorities. Then, I execute the ongoing campaigns and meet with clients. At the end of the working hour, I usually play PlayStation with my colleagues or Shadow Hunter! Most of the employees here love playing games! This activity surely creates a strong bond between us!
What are you currently working on?
One of my current projects is a campaign with a well-known international biscuit brand. I am responsible for their 2019 social media campaign activities.
What do you like most about your job?
As a Senior Account Executive, I like that I can always meet new people and I am constantly mobile. I have the opportunity to also travel for work. Last year, I went to Japan and Surabaya for my clients’ projects.
What was your most memorable moment?
For me, the most memorable moment was when we went to Japan for a client’s campaign. It was my first time to work with someone from a completely different culture. To be honest, it is a dream come true. I worked with the brand Daimaru Matsuzakaya, a department store chain from Japan. In just six days, I got to travel to four cities in Japan with Anak Jajan and Jean Milka, influencers from Indonesia. It was such a great experience and I realize that it was very enlightening to travel with new people.
As a Senior Account Executive, what are your insights about a relevant influencer and a successful campaign?
For me, a successful campaign is the one that creates a new digital trend. Also, it generates genuine engagements from the audience. Relevant influencers are people who exert full effort and time into creating a great campaign, knowing their role in the project and adding value to the brands they work with.
What are your hopes for the industry?
I hope that this industry will get bigger and bigger! I want people to see us as a sustainable industry and I want to help the company in creating tomorrow’s positive influence.
